Moc Chau

    Moc Chau is a highland district in Lang Son that is well worth a visit. It is particularly popular during the plum tree blossom time in February to March. It is sometimes referred to as the Da Lat of the north for it’s rolling hills and cool climate.

    It is best known for the hills of tea fields much like Lang Coc closer to Hanoi. Th etwo most famous tea fields are:

    • Heart Tea Hill (Đồi Chè Trái Tim) – Shaped like a heart it is very popular for wedding photography.
    • Mộc Sương Oolong Plantation – Grows very high-quality oolong tea, a private plantation but welcomes visitors.

    If you come for the plum blossoms some of the best locations are:

    • Na Ka Valley
    • Phieng Canh village 
    • Mu Náu plum valley
    • Pa Khen

    Mu Nua in particular has very steep and challenging roads. There is a motorcycle service off the main street entrance and it is best to use that service. They will drop you off and come back for you at a your leisure. There is a coffee shop named  Mu Nau Oi with great views as well.
