The Hai Van Pass is a lovely coastal road between Da Nang and Lang Co beach. Heading further north you will cross into the North Central region arriving in Hue. It was made internationally famous buy an episode of the BBC show Top Gear. It features a long mountain pass with winding roads often covered in fog. On the Hue end in terminates in Lang Co a beautiful isolated coastal area. It has always been a strategic military point and was a key location in both the Indochina and Vietnam (American) wars. Frencj colonial soldiers built bunkers at the top which can still be explored today. Development has reached this once pristine area with a large Vin Group project occupying much of the Da Nang end. It continues to be a great ride with the Lang Co area providing lots of phot opportunities with the beaches, small fishing villages, oyster farming bay and waterfalls like Suoi Mo.
